为规范本市公共场所的英文译写，进一步提升城市文明形象，推动上海国际化进程，根据《中华人民共和国国家通用语言文字法》《上海市实施〈中华人民共和国国家通用语言文字法〉办法》《上海市人民政府关于加强本市公共场所英文译名使用管理的若干意见》《上海市公共场所中文名称英译基本规则》以及国家和上海其他相关法律法规、规范标准的有关规定，制定本标准。
DB 31/T 457《公共场所英文译写规范》分为十个部分：
——第1部分：通则；
——第2部分：实体名称；
——第3部分：交通；
——第4部分：旅游；
——第5部分：文化体育；
——第6部分：教育；
——第7部分：金融；
——第8部分：医疗卫生；
——第9部分：邮政电信；
——第10部分：商业服务业。
本部分为DB 31/T 457的第10部分。
本部分的附录A、附录B为资料性附录。
本部分由上海市语言文字工作委员会提出并归口。

范围
本部分规定了商业、服务业英文译写的术语和定义、翻译方法和要求、书写要求。
本部分适用于商业、服务业经营机构等实体名称，商业服务类设施及功能信息、警示和提示信息的英文译写。
规范性引用文件
下列文件中的条款通过本部分的引用而成为本部分的条款。凡是注明日期的引用文件，其随后所有的修改单（不包括勘误的内容）或修订版均不适用于本部分，然而，鼓励根据本部分达成协议的各方研究是否可使用这些文件的最新版本。凡是不注日期的引用文件，其最新版本适用于本部分。

术语和定义
下列术语和定义适用于本部分。
商业Commerce
指从事商品流通环节的批发活动和零售活动的行业。
服务业 Service Industry
指提供各种社会服务的行业，包括住宿业、餐饮业、美容美发业、洗染业、修理业、典当业、拍卖业、租赁业、摄影业、家政业、旅馆业等。
翻译方法和要求
实体名称
4.1.1 本部分实体名称指具有商业服务功能的区域、场所，以及提供商业服务的经营机构等的名称。
4.1.2 实体名称构成成分的分析方法及译写方法，应符合DB31/T 457.2的相关要求。
4.1.3 实体名称的属性名和通名
实体名称的属性名、通名的译法应符合下列要求：
4.1.3.1 商业区
——中央商务区、中央商业区、商务中心区译作Central Business District (CBD)。
——商业副中心译作Sub-CBD，如：五角场商业副中心Wujiaochang Sub-CBD。
——商圈译作Business Zone，如：徐家汇商圈Xujiahui Business Zone。
——商业街译作Commercial Street，如：四川北路商业街Sichuan Rd.(N) Commercial Street。
——步行街译作Pedestrian Street，如：南京东路步行街Nanjing Rd.(E) Pedestrian Street。
——金融区译作Financial District或Financial Zone，如：陆家嘴金融贸易区Lujiazui Financial & Trade Zone。
4.1.3.2 商业、休闲广场
——主要功能为购物、餐饮和商业活动的大型场所，中文名称为“广场”的，可以译作Plaza，如：万达广场Wanda Plaza。
——在城市中用作花园或休闲场所，四方形的开放区域译作Square，如：人民广场People's Square。
4.1.3.3 大厦、大楼
——商业性写字楼可译作Tower或Building或Mansion，如：金茂大厦Jinmao Tower。
——具有购物、餐饮等功能的大楼、大厦可译作Plaza，如：腾飞大厦Ascendas Plaza。
4.1.3.4 购物中心
——规模巨大，集购物、休闲、娱乐、餐饮等于一体，包括百货店、大卖场以及众多专业连锁零售店在内的超级商业中心译作ShoppingMall。
——中等规模的购物中心译为Shopping Center，如：上海锦江国际购物中心Shanghai Jinjiang International Shopping Center。
4.1.3.5 超市
设有自选购物区的超市译作Supermarket；特大型超市、大卖场可译作Hypermarket。
4.1.3.6 商场、商店
只针对货品进行分类销售、不具有休闲娱乐等多种功能的较小规模的商店、店铺一般译作Store或Shop。
——百货商店（公司）译作Department Store。
——家居建材商店译作Home Furnishing and Decorating Materials Store (Shop)；书店译作Bookstore，书城译作Book Mall；音像制品店译作Audio-Video Store (Shop)；干洗店译作Dry Cleaning Store (Shop)；南（北）货店（土特产店）译作Specialty Store (Shop)；成人用品商店译作Adult Store (Shop)；珠宝商店、银楼等直接译作Jewelry；金店可译作Gold Store (Shop)。
——便利店译作Convenience Store (Shop)；精品店译作Boutique；折扣店译作Discount Store (Shop)。
——专卖店采用“品牌名+Store (Shop)”的体例译写。
4.1.3.7 服务业
——美容美发中心（店、厅）译作Beauty Salon。
——温泉浴场译作Spa；浴场、洗浴中心译作Bath Center，也可直接译作Bath。
——婚庆服务公司（商店）译作Wedding Service或Wedding Planner。婚纱店译作Wedding Dress Store。婚纱摄影店译作Wedding Photography Studio。
——房屋中介、房地产经纪公司等可译作Real Estate Agency。
——典当行译作Pawn或Pawnshop，如：东方典当Oriental Pawn。
——家政服务、保姆介绍服务机构译作Maid Service或Housekeeping Service。
——拍卖行译作Auction，如：上海拍卖行Shanghai Auction。
——租赁公司等译作Leasing Company或Rental (Company) 或Rental Shop，如：上海鑫威汽车租赁有限公司Shanghai Xinwei Automobile Leasing Co., Ltd.。
4.1.3.8 饭店
——酒家、酒楼、酒店、菜馆、餐馆、餐厅、饭庄、食府，以及饮食店等仅提供餐饮服务的服务机构，均译作Restaurant，如：老正兴餐馆Laozhengxing Restaurant。
——快餐店、快餐厅译作Fast Food Restaurant或Snack Bar。自助餐厅译作Buffet。
——火锅（店）译作Hot Pot，如：南华火锅楼Nanhua Hot Pot。
——中文名称中含有“阁、轩、府、坊、村”等的，视作专名的一部分，连同专名一起音译，如：绿波廊Lubolang Restaurant。
4.1.3.9 酒吧、茶馆
——咖啡馆（厅、店）译作Café，如：泰晤士咖啡厅Thames Café。
——酒吧译作Bar，如：迈阿密酒吧Miami Bar。
——茶馆译作Teahouse，如：得和茶馆Dehe Teahouse。
4.1.3.10 宾馆
宾馆，以及提供住宿的酒店、饭店等可译作Hotel，如：上海浦东大酒店Shanghai Pudong Hotel。
经济型的连锁旅馆可译作Motel或Inn，如：锦江之星Jinjiang Inn。
4.1.3.11 旅行社
旅行社等旅游服务商业机构一般译作Travel 或Travel Service，如：上海国际友好旅行社Shanghai International Goodwill Travel。
4.1.4 商业、服务业单位的分支机构，一般译为Branch。
4.1.5 其他现用的成熟译名宜沿用附录A的英文译写。
4.2 设施及功能信息、警示和提示信息
4.2.1 采用英文直接译写，如：购物车(Shopping) Trolley 或(Shopping) Cart；请勿推购物车上下电梯No Trolleys in the Elevator。
4.2.2 译写应使功能明确、指令清晰、译文简洁。
4.2.3 译写应符合英语使用习惯，如：九折优惠10% Discount或10% Off（指优惠、减价10%，不可译作90% Discount）。
4.2.4 译写应简单、通俗，避免使用生僻词语，如：专卖店Store（不宜译作Franchise）。
4.2.5 译写应突出服务项目和内容，如：代客送礼Gift Delivery（“代客”不必译出）。
4.2.6 具体译法可参照附录B，并应符合DB31/T457.1中5.1和5.2的要求。
4.3 使用汉语拼音拼写，应符合GB/T 16159的规定。
4.4 英文词语选用和拼写方法、单复数用法和缩写应符合DB31/T 457.1中5.3和5.4的要求。
书写要求
英文大小写、标点符号、换行、字母体式等的用法应符合DB31/T 457.1中6的要求和DB31/T 457.2中5的要求。
